They're a huge help! When I finally started getting help is when I actually passed my math classes. I really like having another teacher to answer my questions... I liked the focus on concepts and the relaxed manner in teaching. Jessica looked forward to these sessions whereas the traditional approach her former piano teacher took practically made Jessica depressed. Math and piano I would say, she liked about equally...before tutoring started. Now she has a good attitude toward trying to understand math. (She just quit piano). The fact that Jessica had the desire to take the California Math exam a few weeks ago I thought showed good overall confidence in her ability with Algebra. The grades have even come up recently, which attests to the fact she is getting it. The tutoring has done a lot for Jessica's self-esteem in math. She isn't daunted by it anymore.
